General

Students are required to be at least 17 years of age, to commence study in both English Language and Vocational Education Training (VET) programs at Sarina Russo Institute.

** Results more than two years old will not be accepted and the SRI placement test will need to be undertaken.

 

Vocational Education and Training (VET) Programs – English Level Proficiency

The language of instruction at Sarina Russo Institute is English. International students will need to show evidence of a suitable level of English language proficiency, a sound achievement in mainstream English from an Australian high school or be assessed by Sarina Russo Institute and meet the required English Level before being admitted into a program.

International students who do not meet the English language requirements may undertake a range of pathway and qualifying English Language Programs at Sarina Russo Institute in order to gain entry into Certificate or Diploma programs.

Specific academic requirements by country are required to gain maximum credit for university entry.

Not all qualifications are listed and students with other qualifications should forward the details to us for assessment. Applications from countries not listed are encouraged and will be assessed on an individual basis.

Average grade of 70% for Licencia de Educacion Media or Licencia de Ensenanza Media (Certificate of Secondary Education) OR Licencia de Educacion Media Tecnico-Profesional (Certificate of Technical Vocational Secondary Education) and Tecnico [Medio] (Secondary level technician).
China Senior Middle 3 with 60% average GPA or Senior Middle 2 with 70%. Senior Middle 3 with 70% average GPA in 4 academic subjects.
Colombia Satisfactory completion of the Bachillerato or Bachillerato Tecnico with an average grade of 50% or higher. Completion of the Bachiller / Bachillero / Bachillerato with an average grade of 70% or higher in final year.
Czech Republic/Slovakia Assessed on individual basis. Maturita.
France Successful completion of the 11th year of schooling, equivalent to Australian Yr 11 standards. Completion of the Baccalauréat with a ‘Pass’ grade average.
Germany Successful completion of the 11th year of schooling, equivalent to Australian Yr 11 standards. Successful completion of The Abitur, the Fachhochschulreife, the Zeugnis der Allgemeitten Hochschulreife or the Reifezeugnis with a ‘Pass’ mark in four subjects.
Hong Kong Form 5 with a pass in 3 academic subjects. HKDSE with 8 to 10 points across 5 subjects
India All India Secondary School Certificate with 55% average. All India Secondary School Certificate with 50% average of Year 11 with 70%  average.
Indonesia SMU 2 with 6.0 average. SMU 3 with 6.5 average in 4 subjects.
Italy Successful completion of the 12th year of schooling, equivalent to Australian Yr 11 standards. Successful completion of three academic subjects taken in the 13 year of schooling with a minimum grade of ‘6’.
Japan Kotogakko 2 with 3.0 out of 5.0. Kotogakko 3 with 3.0 average out of 5.0.
Korea (ROK ) Senior High School Leaving Year 2 with Rank 4. Senior High School Leaving Year 3 with Rank 5.
Macau Successful completion of the 11th / 12th year of schooling (dependent upon education curriculum), equivalent to Australian Yr 11 standards. Successful completion of Senior Middle 3 with a B average in 4 subjects.
Malaysia SPM with passes in 3 academic subjects. STPM with passes in 2 academic subjects or B grades in 4 academic subjects in Senior Middle 3 or UEC with 2 B’s and 2 C’s.
Mexico Completion of the Bachillerato/Bachillerato Tecnico with an average grade of 6.0 (on the 6 scale system). Successful Completion of Bachillerato/Bachillerato Tecnico with an average grade 7.0 (on 6 scale system).
Middle East Thanawiya amma with 60% in 4 academic subjects’ or American High School Diploma with 60% average. Certificate or American High School Diploma with 80% average in 4 academic subjects.

Peru Satisfactory completion of seconday education (Certificate of Completed General Secondary Education). Successful completion of the Secondary Education (Certificate of Completed General Secondary Education) with an average grade of ’14’.
Poland Successful completion of the 11th year of schooling (year 2 of Liceum), equivalent to Australian Yr 11 standards. Satisfactory completion of Senior/Upper Secondary School with ‘satisfactory’ grades in three subjects.
Russia Year 11 or equivalent. Year 12 or equivalent.
Spain Successful completion of the 11th year of schooling, equivalent to Australian Yr 11 standards. Satisfactory completion of the Curso de Orientacion Universitaria/ Título de Bachillerato with a passing grade in three subjects.

Mature Age Entry

Mature age students (20 years of age and over) may be admitted into a program without meeting the formal academic requirements if they have relevant work experience and/or other acceptable qualifications.
