Overview:

The Diploma of Community Services provides students with a pathway to various roles in the services industry, including; working with people experiencing drug and alcohol related issues, mental health or disability.

By studying this course you will gain the knowledge and develop the ability to work with a diverse range of clients.  You will learn to coordinate complex case requirements, implement community development strategies while managing legal and ethical compliance.

Through the integration of learning with practical placements and workplace case studies, students will be prepared to work in a variety of roles with confidence and competence.

Delivery: This course is delivered online, using iLearn, our 24/7 learner management system. Using iLearn, students can engage with learning at their own speed and in their own time.
Duration: 12 Months
Intakes: Every Monday
Entry Requirements: Year 12 certificate or a competent result in an entry level reading and numeracy test.
Vocational Placement: This course also requires 100 hours of vocational placement (unpaid) in a live working environment. Students are expected to find their own placement however Sarina Russo Institute will assist you if you have difficulties finding a suitable venue.

Credit Towards University
Successful completion of the Diploma of Community Services provides articulation into Southern Cross University or Griffith University.
Southern Cross University: 
8 subject credits into the Bachelor of Social Science and the Bachelor of Social Welfare.
Griffith University: 6 subject credits into Bachelor of Human Services.
